I have been working on this quilt for about 6 months. Way behind the progress for the Kaleidoscope Quilt Along from Don't Call Me Betsy. The quilt is going to the LeRoy Presbyterian church for their Harvest Festival and it will be raffled off. I just need to finish the label and it'll be ready to deliver.
This is the church S grew up in and it's in a teeny tiny town so we help out quite a bit during the festival and auction. This year we're in charge of the kids games so we're stepping it up a notch and renting a cotton candy machine and bounce house and will have some carnival games. The cheerleaders from Mormon Trail High are volunteering to man the games and do face painting. It should be a lot of fun.
I'm also working on a doll bed with a doll quilt for the auction. I still need to paint the bed and make the mattress and pillows.
Have a great week!

That is an awesome quilt! I'm not sure I would be able to give it away. I hope the auction is a huge success!
ReplyDeleteI was planning to give it away from the start so that kind of helps me to give it away. Thanks!

It's lovely--can you sell raffle tickets ahead of time? I'm with Tricia, it would be hard to part with a beauty like that!
ReplyDeleteThanks Doris,
DeleteI'm planning to bring it to the next DSMMQG meeting as my show and tell. The raffle tickets are $1 each and all proceeds to go the church.

This is so beautiful!! It's so funny that all day I've been pondering a Kalaidascope quilt and was condsidering using this same Quilt Along! If I could get a finished product that is half a pretty as yours I'd be thrilled. I'm sure it will go over very well at the auction!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The Quilt Along was a lot of fun but obviously I was slower than most getting it finished. Have fun if you decide to make one.
